Attached is a PDF of the article I mentioned tonight. It’s an interview with Fred Rogers from 1998. I bought the original Esquire “Can You Say Hero?” issue in November 98 as soon as I saw it on a downtown news stand, coz I couldn’t believe he was their cover subject. It was a sweet little incident of incongruent energies in the world that year… It’s a beautiful piece, sometimes funny, sometimes touching. Well worth the time to settle in and read it, in my opinion.
It feels at home with my own spirit in some ways, which is why I say Mr. Rogers is a patron saint of mine.
